Precursors for Sol-Gel and CVD

C hemat Technology, Inc. is the leading supplier of metalorganic precursors for chemical vapor deposition (CVD) and sol-gel processes.  Because of a deep understanding in chemistry, proce2ssing, and applications of CVD and sol-gel processes, Chemat is well positioned to provide services to customers to satisfy their needs in both R&D and products manufacturing.  The Chemat catalog contains more than 700 chemicals and solutions including metal alkoxides, beta-diketonates, alkylamides, and carboxylates to cover a wide range of applications.  In addition, Chemat produces a series of soluble polymeric metal organic oxoalkoxides for the processing of advanced ceramics using the solution route.  These soluble polymeric precursors are more stable toward hydrolysis, and are easier to handle in atmosphere than pure metal alkoxides.  The current product line includes polymeric precursors for Al2O3, In2O3, SnO2, ATO, ITO, BaTiO3, PbTiO3, PZT, and ZrO2 .  They are suitable for large-scale production of thin film coatings, or they may be used as binders in ceramic forming.

Chemat engages in active research in sol-gel and CVD chemistry, and constantly develops unique precursors for the synthesis of advanced materials.  Efforts are also focused on the improvement of the quality of our products through innovations of synthesis process and quality control.

Chemat owns large-scale synthesis facilities to manufacture production quantities of precursors for industrial applications.  Antimony (III) ethoxide (Sb(OC2 H5)3), barium isopropoxide (Ba(OC3 H7i) 2), barium titanium ethylhexano-isopropoxide (BaTi(OOC8H15)(OC3H7i)5), molybdenum isopropoxide (Mo(OC3H7i)5), niobium ethoxide (Nb(OC2H5)5), tantalum ethoxide (Ta(OC2H5)5), tin (IV) isopropoxide (Sn(OC3H7i)4), and tungsten (VI) isopropoxide (W(OC3H 7i)6 ) are typically produced in production quantities.  Other precursors and custom syntheses are also available on request.
